The 10th Bangor New Music Festival 16-18th, 20th, 26th March 2010

Tickets for concerts are available on the door, priced at:

£10.00 Adults
£7.00 Pensioners
£5.00 Students
£2.00 Under-18s

Parents of children participating in a concert are entitled to a special concessionary rate of £5.00

Tickets for the BBC National Orchestra of Wales concert are priced at: £12.50 (adults), £9.50 (pensioners, £6 (students), £3 (under-18s)

An engaging night of the latest jazz with young local musician Gwilym Simcock and his trio.

An introduction to composing for the combination of acoustic instruments and live electronics led by Michael Alcorn

with ElectroacousticWALES and student musicians from the School of Music to include premieres of new pieces by Michael Alcorn, Andrew Lewis and music students.

A wonderful combination of two opposites, which includes the technical demands of the étude versus the more programmatic style inspired by landscapes.

Music for Babies

Location: Caban Bach - Ysgol Glan Cegin, Maesgeirchen, Eglwys y Groes, Maesgeirchen 10am - 12; Penralt 2 - 4pm
A chance for the younger generation (ages from 6 months to 5 years old) to listen and take part in various musical activities led by Manon Llwyd and Bethan Mair (Sing and Sign – Galeri) and Marie-Clare Howorth (Camau Cyntaf – Canolfan William Mathias) with a premiere of Music for Prams by Guto Pryderi Puw. Parent/guardian must accompany and participate with their child.

Members of the BBC NOW will perform compositions by local secondary school pupils, led by Adrian Williams.

Instrumental Masterclasses

Open master classes for local instrumentalists (ranging from school pupils to the general public) with members of the BBC NOW. Registration is required and the standard should be grade 7 or above.
